I’ve been a fan of Nick Harper’s for many years now and always try and see him when he passes through south-west Scotland. It doesn’t get much better than a house concert, except when Nick agrees to sit down and have a chat! His music and lyrics have inspired me so much over the years, so it was a real pleasure and privilege to be able to talk to him one-on-one. Enjoy!

I shot most of Nick’s songs on my Sony A7 III and recorded some of the audio on my Zoom H4N so watch out for some of that coming soon. Meanwhile, where’s Nick’s closing song of the concert, This is the Beginning. I shouted for this, but I feel like he was gonna play it anyway. The story that accompanies this song is gold, all about his mother as a young lass in a small French town ringing the bell in the tower, high on life and in the company of a couple of sailors. It was amazing to listen to. Here’s the song.
